Seems like You are not waiting for GC for more than 8 years. You have not been separated from ur family for more than 3 years. Thats why you don't agree with EB3-I fight. Look at the PD for last 3 years. EB3-I is stuck in 2001 since early 2005. It has not moved in last 3 years and you are saying People should keep quiet about it. How selfish of you.
I never said we should keep quiet about it. I was only responding to an earlier post reagarding 'EB2 - elitist protectionism'. Just like you are within your rights to look after yourself, so is everybody else - welcome to capitalism. I have always maintained that going down the road of EB3 versus EB2 is detrimental to this group. Your post only adds to this.
In anycase I dont know how splitting visas equally between EB2I and EB3I can pass the smell test even if DOS were to implement it - there is a categorization that is already established AFTER the initial handout is made on an equal basis. The split completely negates it - at least to the extent any EB2ROW spill over is directed to EB3 when EB2 I and C are already retrogressed.
Lets not swear by capitalism but selectively resort to socialism.

Finally we have decided to go back to India for good. I filed my EB3 in May 2003. Its going to be another 4 years to get the green card. When I went to India for vacation last December, we liked it over there & the economy is booming. There are all sorts of discussion regarding the Economic Gap/Politics/Corruption/Cleanliness. But we like it over there. Finally I will have an option to do something interesting. In US I was very much dependent on my monthly pay check and afraid to take even the slightest risk. I am also scared to use the AC21(Hey, thats the way I am). I am working with the same company for last 10 years, kinda stagnant in the last 4 years. In India, there are lots of choices, either to work for a sw company or start some business on my own. I think I will take the business route.
May be I can go there, earn well, send my son to US for college, do green card through him & come retire in US!!!
Good Luck to everybody!!
Good decision. I was opposed to going back but I think its good to do just that. You see lot of folks going back after getting their citizenship.

We would all like to part of a rally or protest but why give us only one days notice? Surely most people will not have read this post by tomorrow. We should organize this properly by sending out the message to the community well in advance and getting the required permits (I mean if you want this to be in any way successful that is).

I cannot stand the Sardar and his super corrupt party also sick of seeing that joker 'Rahul Gandhi' face they show him 24 X 7 on all Indian channels...I curse him every single day when I see his face in the Newspapers. These b..stards have eaten our country like parasites. If I go to India, I will have to see his face everyday...I'll rather see Obama..

did you move within the same city, or was this an out of state move?
- if within the same city, you could possibly check with people living at your old address...who knows, they could be helpful. generally usps does not deliver uscis mail without your name on the mailbox; also there is no mail forwarding for such mails
- check with uscis to see if the card was already mailed out, or otherwise try to get their help in tracking it down (given their customer service though, this could be difficult)
- your attorney should also receive a copy of the approval notice, so check with him/her. uscis sends the card and welcome notice only to you, but they (afaik) generally send out a copy of the approval notice to the attorney as well.
- if unable to resolve this in 30-days, file I-90 (see below). again, check with attorney before doing anything.
- can also consider getting I-551 stamp from local uscis office

Filing Fee if you are filing because:
• You never received your Permanent Resident Card; or
• Your Permanent Resident Card was issued with incorrect information because of a USCIS administrative error;
Then there is no fee required. Please review the Where to File Instructions, below, if you are filing for these reasons. Total filing fee = $0
If you are filing because your card was never received
• If USCIS mailed you a Permanent Resident Card more than 30 days ago and you have not received it; and
• It has been returned to USCIS by the Post Office as undeliverable; and
• You have not moved from the address you provided to USCIS during the application or immigrant visa process that led to the creation of the card not received;
My husband called USCIS today to check if they have correct address on file and alas they had old address. When we moved after filing for I-485/EAD/AP, we changed the address in Oct and also after we received receipt notices in Jan. We received EAD/AP/Finger printing notices at the present address for all three of us and now they are saying they had old address on my husband's I485 only, great!!!
They were not sure where the card/welcome notice/approval notice were mailed, to my old address or the attorney. Will check with the attorney today, if not what is the procedure as the card will return back. Thanks in advance.

Condi's statement
Dr. RICE: Well, this was a case in which for--at a certain point in time, we'd not filled the entire quota for these special immigrant visas. And made an announcement of that. But when they were filled, we had to cut it off at that point. There's a ceiling that's set every year and when that ceiling was reached, then we couldn't issue the visas any longer.
From New York Times Editorial
On Monday, the State Department announced that all 140,000 employment-based green cards had been used and no applications would be accepted.
Citizenship and Immigration Services, the definition of a hangdog bureaucracy, says the law forbids it to accept the applications.
Based on the above, I undersand that there is a law that forbids acceptance of AOS applications when the 140K quota is exhausted.
The following is AILA's response in New York Times Editorial.
The American Immigration Lawyers Association says this interpretation is rubbish.
I am very curious to see the immigration law that AILA calls rubish and is ignoring while filing the class action suite!

The ideas and concepts of releasing your unlimited potential can only be turned into reality if you take bold action now. Wishful thinking will not make your dreams come true. . If you want to be free your thinking must control your limitations instead of your limitations controlling your thinking. Look at your life for a moment! What do you see? Do you see opportunity, love, happiness, success and fulfillment? Or, have you mentally set up restrictive limitations? If so, the fact that you have declared yourself a prisoner will make you a prisoner. Once you make up your mind to be free and declare that you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, you will be motivated to make necessary moves toward liberation. The truth is, you will remain where you are only as long as you hold yourself prisoner. There are only ordinary people who have decided to do great things. These are people who are motivated by a burning desire to be free in order to express their unlimited potential. Instead of blaming others for their condition, they took action to change their situation.
Hope this helps someone somewhere...
it certainly helped me...thanks for posting this...
