I 485 reached Nebraska on 3rd July, received by F.Heinauer 11.14 AM. I140 approved by Nebraska. Checks encashed today by Nebraska. I think, atlast, they started digging the 2nd and 3rd july filers applications. Hang on guys we should be getting the reciepts soon.

you need to look at the money that you must have earned/saved and then be happy about it. also the system sucks but they made it that way for a purpose. US doesnot want a flood of immigrants and hence these quotas. ofcourse because of the strict system they had to face a bigger problem i.e. illegal immigration. In the end you need to realise that the only country which has open arms for you is your home country.
my friend correctly told me ..if uscis tells me that I have to go back ..I will pack in a day and go back. we know english and have computer skills, we will get a job anywhere in the world.
also focus on the positives ..for eg I am happy that because of these delays I didnt run and buy a house in usa (which is one of the worst investments that a person can make).

Nothing is as easy as it seems. Even for a small ask item, there is a lot we have to invest. If people show up for chapter meetings, come for lobby day and rally, contribute and volunteer for the cause.. then we can increase our chances of success.
I looked at the profiles of people on this thread and a lot have not even completed their profile information. While we want IV to do things for us, we do not want to do what IV asks us to do. One cannot expect to get things done by anonymously posting a want list and expecting others to do the job for them.
If anyone wants their ideas to be the agenda of IV, they must come forward and get active in the state chapter. Through state chapters you will know the updates and have an opportunity to help, suggest and even lead your ideas in IV.

We all are equally frustrated with the situation we are in. We can always find reasons to fight within our community (EB Vs FB, Legal Vs Illegal, EB1 vs EB2 Vs EB3 - the list is endless). These outburst of frustrations / arguments and counter arguments do not take us anywhere.

There are many who are in the same boat where cases are in transit or with an officer for quite some time. I wished USCIS processes the case in order of PD rather than in a random fashion. Also they need to do it at TSC and NSC.

If there is a revised bulletin which shows that your Priority Date is retrogressed then your's will be thrown off ....
I mean you missed a golden opportunity because you had whole of June
to file - i know its not your fault , just stating the Fact.
I'm in very similar situation. My dates were available for June as well. My HR/Attorneys did this long and painful bureaucratic process. We have an internal website which says that my case was �filed� on Jun-29th. Don�t know what the fuck that means. Whether it was sent on 29th or received on 29th? Couldn�t get HR to answer.Don�t have direct communication lines with Attorneys... If it�s sent on 29th, does USCIS take packages on Saturday or Sunday? If they take only on Monday, will they throw it out because it reached in July? Oh well, just have to wait and see...

Problem was ours (EB2 & EB3) and we fought together until EB2&EB3 dates were retrogressed.Now the problem is only for EB3s so EB3s only have to come forward and work for ourselves. Thank you Sir...
No, you are twisting what I said. My point is, if you are not willing to help yourself, why do you expect people who are going to be current in a year or so to chip in? You can start helping yourself by becoming a regular donor to IV. That's $25 a month. Imagine 11,000 odd EB people becoming regular donors. Maybe, IV can then run a regular ad in major news network, explaining our plight.
What I am saying is we(EB2&3) will fight together and you are saying that It's your problem and you(EB3) have to work for yourself.So do we have to start a new community called eb3immigrationvoice?

I filed on july 7th and still waiting.
My case little different, my 485 pending at Nebraska and I mailed EAD renewal at Texas (because I live in PA, per instructions in form).
Do you think my EAD will get stuck because of this? I hope I did right thing.

Previous years Oct Visa Bulletins doesn't look encouraging at all, EB-3 India moved by a week and other categories move by a month or 2. With USCIS taking huge no. of applications in june'07 the future of oct'07 seems to be pretty bleak, It is quiet depressing. We surely need this legislation of ability to file 485 even if visa dates not current.

lawsuite and all will never get us to a point where we want. nobody can force
the state department or the USCIS to forcefully accept 700K applications, and then for next 20 years the dates will be struck. specially for people who have been waiting since 2000,2001 and 2002 cannnot be clubed together with people who came in 2006 or 2007, that is going to be fairly injustice and they know that.
I think it will be better to focus our energy on legislative changes or else nothing will get done, no body can push 700K applications down to the throats of USCIS when that have already exausted the quota.
better focus on contacting senators or house members to get some legislative relief.

As far as I can tell from this thread, no one who was eligible to file 6/1 has had receipts yet.
I was told, attorney / employer will receive notice of receipt for I 485, not employee. For EAD / AP - that goes to employee, not attorney / employer
I got 3 out of 6 on monday by mail.

Wanted to let everyone know of my experience. I dont physically have my card, but there is an approval notice on the USCIS website.
Priority date October 20th 2005
I opened a service request on Monday August 16th. The person on the other end of the line was extremely polite and nice. I told him I had a speaking engagement in Canada (which is the truth) and that if my case was expedited, I would not have to apply for a visa. He given me a SR number and asked me to wait for 30 days which I was prepared to do. However my case status changed online on August 19th. I am unsure as to whether this was because of the service request or things would have taken this route anyway.

The receipt no. had SRC***** in it and when i looked it up online i saw a note stating " your applicaiton is with our Texas Center". I did send it to NSC on Jul 2.
I understand that. What I wanted to know was what number you have? SRC or LIN? And also to confirm, if it was cashed by TSC? and not the case that it was cashed by NSC and then scheduled to be transfer to TSC?
