Chan is right. If interpretation will start the way you are proposing, it will be sheer disaster for people who didn't file I-485 yet.

If you've already done so then please send a follow-up note. It typically takes a week from your original email. If nothing worked, please pick up the phone and call them up directly.

The answer is in your question. Numbers. A few years ago (circa 2002-) no one complained much about Indians. Recently the complaints in the media/forums etc. are much higher. Why ? More H1, => more bodyshoppers (mainly India) => more abuse => more complaints and so on.
Also FYI, H1 is "temporary" just like F1. H1 is not a guarantee to GC. So you need to go back after 6 years, since you say F1 should leave after graduation.
Thats my point. Why are pakistanis getting green cards and nobody is saying they have taken jobs away from Americans? So many come to US on visa free travel, work 6 months undocumented from european countries, yet they are the first to get the GCs while Indians abuse B1, they abuse H1. How come only Indians abuse everything no one else abuses anything?

Guys inorder for DOS or DHS or USCIS to get the message they will FIRST and FOREMOST have to understand WHO Gandhi is. For that we will have to attach a few pages of documentation about Mahatma Gandhi. By the time the message gets to the correct person's hands AND he/she understands the true meaning of the message, the person will think we insulted them, coz the the flowers will be dead and dried up and STINKY.
Folks... the flowers are just one part of the campaign. The other part is where we notify every major news media about what we are trying to do (we will mail them on July 9th). That is where we let people know what we are trying to achieve. The flowers are a means to an end. Something to attract the media.
We hope that the media will cover this event since it is so unorthodox.

It is a hard fact but I guess I do not want to scare anyone. If you notice some people have got their JuLY 2ND filed cases receipt # and most of them have a Notice date of 08/04/2007 (the guys who got their receipt #). This notice date is the day the Receipt was generated. So today is 08/13/2007. It seems that USCIS is delaying this process of issuing receipts as that will give them a chance to reject applications after 17th. So I guess we should brace ourselves for rejection notices also......

You are talking about 2004, 05. What about 2001, 2002 and 2003? There are so many people with 2002 priority dates still waiting just like me. Mine is 02/2002

My employer filed my wife's and my EAD paper based application on Jul 25, 2008 (TSC Received Date). But I still haven't received the Receipt notices for the same.
Generally how long does take to get the receipt notices?
Please let me know if any has filed around same date and received the receipts?

Its not a question of blood sucking etc...i know, i was very involved in my company. The real reason for delaying the I-485 process is the company has to really disclose a lot ( i mean a lot) of its financial information about itself to USCIS,( including the latest tax returns) etc..
A lot of small business do not want to do that as they differ their taxes for years. Tax differment is not new ( read about News Corp). These companies do not want to get into these situations.

If this guy from USCIS (Emilio T. Gonzalez) is an anti immigrant then he might think this is an appreciation from anti immigrants. dont you want to convey to him that these flowers are actually from people who got screwed by him and uscis

that Senior Members would be more involved in posting on this website. It makes a lot of difference if core members who have a closer perspective of the truth could respond to some questions on these threads. No response, in my opinion only helps in making the website dead and promotes unproductive arguments and squabbles here.

Nothing at all about my US GC ... ( i just filed 485 about a year ago - this was about 3 months before that)
These are approx conversations :)
Why did you come here instead of home country ... i came here to do the landing, and thought i'll do the visa stamping as well + Regular employer/ job /education questions ...come back tomorrow to collect the passport
Mine was same employer
but u must ve mentioned on ur DS-156 that u ve filed GC ?
Also did u take ur own car or rental Car?
