This is a neat idea to draw worthwhile attention which at the same time won't cause any hatred. I'm sure most of us would like to act upon this.
Can one of core members talk to a florist and workout some kind of arrangement where if we call them and give a code and payment they would process the order with a pre-set message and delivery address. I'm sure we will have a large participation if we make the process simple for the mass.
Also make this a front page message.
Core members cannot "officially" endorse this. So they will not. If we want to do this then we are doing this on our own!

Let's NOT be hypocrites. We are just venting out our frustrations of these never ending Visa Bulletin life...
We all know that we respect each other and value much more than these occasional emotional outbursts. Donors or Non Donors, USCIS treats us as same shit.
My take would be, if people want to Donate or find that their Donation could help their cause, they will Donate. We can only request people to Donate and put forth our 'Selling points', which I think Pappu, Ameya and others are doing it already.
Please don't stoop down to the level of hating each other on the basis of 'Donor' Vs 'Non-Donor'.

Usually it takes 2-3 weeks to receive the receipt numbers. My lawyer sent my file on 06/06/2007 which should have reached USCIS on 06/07/2007. I am not expecting a receipt number before third week of June. I will post here when I receive my receipt.

Let me first of all thank you for taking a strong stand for your highly skilled employees at this critical time. I am on an H1b visa and am a certified professional working in this country. I just wanted to ask you a few question. The biotech firms employ a lot of people on H1b visas. How come none of them, excluding Genentech, is included in the compete america group's letter to the congress. I strongly feel and pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, other biotech companies should also be included to stand for the H1b visa and green card issue for their employees. Seccond question I would like to ask is about the provision to renew the H1b in increment of 3 years each after the 6th year, which apparently has been taken off in this new CIR bill. This is a very technical issue and employers would not want to loose the trained employees after the 6th year period. It does not make any sense to refuse renewability of the H1b after 6 years since by that time that employee has already become an asset to the company or this nation. Please make sure to stand for that particular issue. H1b should be renewable in increments of 3 years each if the GC has been filed by the 5th year. Let me thank you for successfully campaigning for increasing the H1b numbers and hopefully this will enable me to move from my present acadamic position (Ast Prof at XXXXXX) to an Industry. I have to get the EMP LETTER latest by Friday June 29th from employer.
For that i have to sign the agreement by June 28th Noon time.
Today is June 26th and they are still working on agreement with their lawyers and would probably give me the final agreement tomorrow 27th noon time.
Between 27th Noon and 28th Noon how can i consult a lawyer ??
It all depends on how you want to lose the money.
(a) Pay the employer for breaking the agreement
(b) Do nothing and let employer send your case to collection agency. Ignore the collection agency and get black mark on your credit history (and lose money on higher mortgage/ auto loan rates, credit card interest, credit denial due to derogatory comments on credit report)
(c) Do nothing and let employer take you to court. Then fight the case and
(i) pay lawyer if you win
(ii) pay lawyer and the employer if you lose
At the end of the day, ask yourself how much it is worth to get a GC. If you think going through all this is not worth it, tell you employer to go take a walk and quit. You can start all over again with someone new.

Mr. Vayalar Ravi , Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs,is coming to USA on June 27,2006. He is coming to Washington DC on July 4 to meet Indian Ambassador and Indian community. We should try to meet him personally and explain the problems we are facing. He can talk to US counterparts and do something for us.
Let us organize an event to meet him on July 4. Since It is a holiday, lot of people can meet him and chat with him.
Like he will care about us. If he does care, he can not do anything unless he gets OK from Madam Sonia:-)

Just wanted to give you an update on my FP notice. Finally I got FP notice today schedule for 01/29/08. I guess Infopass appointment works. I had infopass appointment on 21st of Dec 2007 and IO told me I should expect FP within 3 weeks . I guess USCIS has started working after a long break. Hang on guys.
